Obituary

Willis Reachel McCarley “Mac” was born on September 23, 1923 in Sterling Oklahoma to Claud and Kate Mc Carley. He was a resident of Sacramento for 52 years, and passed away there at the age of 87 on July 15, 2011.
His family moved to California in the early 1940’s. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. When he was discharged he and his new wife Vera moved to Modesto California in order to be closer to her parents. In 1959 he and his family moved to Sacramento.
He worked in underground pipeline construction and retired in 1971 after 25 years. After his retirement he was able to enjoy his favorite pass time traveling in his motor home with family and friends, caravaning down the highway to his favorite camping spots.
He was an active member of the Capitol City Baptist Church. He was always ready to help those in need and loved spending time with family an friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Willis is survived by his wife of 68 years Vera McCarley of Sacramento, sons Rod and Ed McCarley and daughter Mary Kimmel all of Sacramento. Also survived by his grandsons Doug and Ron McCarley, and Jonathan and Tim Kimmel, granddaughter Sarah Kimmel of Chicago, and three spirited great grandsons and five beautiful great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his grandson Eric McCarley.
Friends are welcome to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:00 am at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove CA.
