William “Bud”Faughnan born 4/24/1926 in Sacramento, Ca, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2010
Husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
Bud’s family was at his side constantly, providing love and care as he took his final walk in the physical world.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife, Iris, of 63 years whom he met in the 7th grade. Survived by daughters Pamela (Chuck), Christie (Truett), and Susan (Raul), 3 grand children, 6 great grand children. A special thank you to grandson, Michael who was a loving care giver to his Papa.
Bud graduated from C.K. Mc Clatchy High School in 1944. He was a stand-out baseball player, achieving “All City” three years in a row. At age 17, Bud fulfilled a dream of playing for the Sacramento Solons. At age 18, Bud enlisted in the US Navy, where he continued to play baseball for Fleet City in San Francisco and Shoemaker Naval Station. Three years later, after leaving the Navy, Bud returned to Sacramento, married Iris Elledge and went to work for the John Breuner Co. as an interior designer and salesman for the next 39 years. In his retirement, Bud was a longtime volunteer for Kaiser Permanente and the Sacramento Blood Source. Bud was an avid golfer who enjoyed many years of hand crafting custom golf clubs for family and friends.
At Bud’s request, a private family memorial and tribute will be held. As Bud was true animal lover any remembrances can kindly be made to the Sacramento SPCA.
