Wilbur Roy Pullmann - Born September 2, 1942, Passed Away July 30, 2017
On Sunday, July 30, 2017, Wilbur Pullmann passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loved ones. We are sad because of his absence in our lives but happy that he is no longer in pain and is now rejoicing with his Savior and his loved ones who preceded him in death, his parents, Will and Irma Pullmann, brother Arthur Pullmann and his father and mother-in-law Everett and Pauline Sharp. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ethel, his two children, Larry (Pam) Pullmann and Donna (Mark) Einspahr, his grandchildren, Tiffany (Scott) Banks, Megan Einspahr, Eric Einspahr , great-grandson Jace Banks, his sister Betty Arney, brothers Russell (Carolyn) Pullmann and Clarence (aka Dutch)(Kathy) Pullmann. He will be missed by his extended family that includes many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and neighbors.
Wilbur was a Sacramento native and grew up on a farm on land that is now a part of the Sacramento International Airport. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Chaplain’s Assistant and was stationed in Japan and Washington D.C. After leaving the USAF, Wilbur started his own business in 1966, Pullmann Lawn Service is still in business today and is now being operated by his son, Larry. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the Board of Directors on numerous occasions. He served separate terms as President and Secretary of the local branch of AAL/Thrivent and on numerous boards in the Sacramento area including Lutherans for Life and the Sacramento Lutheran High School.
We give our heartfelt thanks to all those who have prayed for him and his family. We thank Vitas Hospice Care for their compassionate care for him, and the family, in his last days with us.
A memorial service to celebrate Wilbur’s life and his joyful return to our Lord will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 – 27th Street, starting at 1:00pm with refreshments in the Fellowship Hall to follow. He will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Park privately with his family only.
