Warren F. Dibben Jr was born on May 4, 1932 and passed away on October 25, 2016, surrounded by loving family. Warren was born in Flandreau, So.Dakota where he spent his school years. He was in the Dakota National Guard when they were activated for duty during the Korean Crisis in 1951. He was deployed to Fort Richardson in Anchorage Alaska for a two year term of duty. When returning to So Dakota he met his wife Alice Dessem and they married in 1953. He studied pre med at the University of So. Dakota in Vermillion for two years when the opportunity for a job in Sacramento, Ca. became available. He moved his family to the warm state in 1957, and became an Engineering Technician for the Department of Water Resources. Warren graduated from Sacramento State College in 1971 and began a teaching career at San Juan High School where he taught Biology and Life Science. He coached all sports and was the Athletic Director there. He was also a member of the Northern California Officials Association where he later became Chairman.
After 15years of teaching, Warren went back to work for the State and completed a total of 30 years at the Department of Water Recourses.
Warren, his wife and family have been members of Bethel Temple/Capital Christian Center since 1957. Their church family has been the strength of their lives.
In retirement years his favorite place was Bradshaw Ranch Golf Club where he kept the stats for many of their functions.
He is survived by his wife Alice, children, Linda Beck, Charles Dibben Sr. (Tracey), Cathleen Skelton (Stanley) and Amy Schmidt (Eric). Thirteen grandchildren, Spencer, Carly and Samantha Beck; Andrew, Emily, Tommy, Lindsay and Charles Dibben Jr.; Carrie and Cody Brown, and Tanner Skelton; Connor and Rebekah Schmidt.; seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Enella Sylva (Robert), Margaret Lord (James) and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Capital Christian Center 9470 Micron Ave. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Reception to follow at the church.
