First of all I would like to say thank you to our ALMIGHTY GOD and to all of you relatives and friends for loving my NANAY BELEN. My heart is crying for I have lost a very loving, thoughtful and caring mother. I am the 4th childm of my NANAY and I also considered myself as BUNSO. My mother gave me nickname TOTOY meaning little boy in English. I would like to tell a story of our simple life of our family back then from MARINDUQUE where I and Alena was born. Nanay and TATAY raised us in very simple way of living. TATAY is a security officer in a mining company with a small salary and NANAY owns a small sari-sari store. Time is going fast and we are all growing and my parents needs us to send to school for our formal education. I still remember my NANAY has to make the salary of tatay to meet our needs. NANAY knows that If she will only depend on the salary of tatay it is not enough to support the family so NANAY has to make a way to help my Tatay . Our house is just adjacent to our elementary school. Early in the morning during weekdays we have to wake up by 4 am to prepare And make EMPANADA with NANAY . During recess time my NANAY has to position herself in front of the gate of our school to sell these empanada. So these is our routine every week days.
In a simple language we belong to a poor family that’s why my parents always told us to study hard. This is the legacy of our parents they have sent us all to college THANK YOU Nanay and Tatay.
Nanay thank you loving us. Thank you for care for us.
Thank you for teaching me how to be a good person.
Thank you for the wonderful memories you shared us.
Thank you for all your sacrifices
Thank you for watching us all the time. I LOVE YOU NAY.

Tiya Belen…”you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
Thank you so much Tiya for all the good things yiu have done for our family and being like a mother to us. You really made us felt to have an “Aunt” who is so caring and loving..Thank you for the unconditional love. “Maraming nagsasabi anak mo ako dahil kamukha kita”. I still remember many times, the tricycle driver would dropped me in front of your house because all they thought I’m one of your children, “sabi ko hindi po ako dito bababa doon pa ako..sagot nila.. akala ko kasi anak ka ni Belen”. I also met some friends of yours and they will tell me..”anak ka ni Belen?” then I told them, pamangkin po, kasi daw kamukha kita. I have a lot of memories of experiences with you during my childhood days to cherished upon Tiya.
Rest now with the Lord..You will be missed and forever cherished what you have done for us! Again, mabbalo Tiya Belen.

  • Lito-ancis Cureg- Yuro says:

Rest in peace Tiya Belen… you are now in God’s embrace. Thank you for all the guidance you have shared with us especially in times of problems and shortcomings. We will cherish all the good memories you showed and shared, rejoicing with us whenever you see the achievements of our kids-Jasmine, Caleb & Jay-R… “So proud saying ‘afu ku yatung’ ta afu na mismo ni kaka si Tanoy”. You are our ninang, a great mother, mentor, adviser and loving lola regularly monitoring us even you are in a distance. All these things remains in our hearts and minds. Thank you for all the love and support.

Our deepest symphaty and prayers to our cousins, nieces and nephews.

I have a lot of memories from Tiya Belen in religious aspects. Learned a lot of teachings and she live by good examples. But the best thing I remembered when I took a scholarship entrance exam at the Sisters of Mary School, Tiya Belen was there like my parent supporting my answers to the interview and the reason I was enrolled and graduated from the exclusive private yet charitable school.
Thank you Tiya Belen. I know you now own a heavenly mansion Jesus prepared for you as He says in John 14:2.
