Thelma Davidson passed away October 12, 2015 at the age of 96. Thelma was a devoted wife, a kind and generous friend to many and an outstanding teacher.
She was preceded in death by her only sibling, John Skog, who died in 1982, and her parents, John and Hilda Skog, who had migrated from Sweden and settled in Sacramento where her father operated a saw-sharpening shop that was supported by a lucrative lumber business at that time in the area.
Thelma attended Sacramento High School and earned a degree in education from San Jose State University in 1942. Her first teaching assignment was in Willets, CA. She ended her career after 31 years with the North Sacramento School District. Thelma married Jim Hillgrave in 1952. Jim was very involved in the Schriners which encouraged them to travel the world. Thelma was widowed for several years before she married Bill Davidson in 1971. Thelma and Bill enjoyed 20 years of their retirement. Thelma was always a beautiful and well-groomed lady.
She will be greatly missed by her step-daughter, Karen (Fred) Hubbard and sister-in-law Adaline (Skog) Forsyth. She has been lovingly cared for by her faithful companions Lou and Lydia Rozario, Bennie Galang and devoted gardener Ben Takeuchi.
