POPE, Stanley Albert
Born on September 14, 1922 in Sacramento, CA Stanley passed away on August 6, 2012 in Sacramento, CA. Stanleys family lived for a time in Oakland, but he mostly grew up in North Sacramento, where he attended Hagginwood Elementary and Grant High School. He was a Sac Bee Carrier and a Sea Scout in his youth. He worked at McClellan Air Force Base before entering into service in the US Army in WWII, stationed in England. Returning from the war he went back to work at McClellan as a Machinist, where he advanced to Foreman, and worked for 35 years. Stanley was a member of the British Air Depot #2 (BAD #2), the Free and Accepted Masons, the Sacramento Scottish Rite Bodies and was a very active member of the North Sacramento United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his first wife Marion Pope.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Gonsalves-Pope, children Stani Ellen Moore (Ray) and David Pope (Jackie), step children Vincent Gonsalves (Patricia) and Debbie Carpenter (Elliot), ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his cousin Les Weir and many other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to attend a Service of Remembrance on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, 2:00 P.M., at the North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Ave, Sacramento, CA 95815.
