Sibyl Elizabeth Miller passed peacefully Apr 16th, 2012 in Sacramento. Born June 4, 1928 in Corey CO, Sibyl’s earliest memories started in CA at the remote lumber town of Pino Grande and later Coloma, graduating from El Dorado High School (Placerville) in 1946. Married Vernon Cranfield and started family in Pollock Pines and Lake Tahoe areas, later moving to Albuquerque NM, where she remained in that area for the next fifty years. Returned to CA to spend her last six years in Elk Grove CA with daughter Gale (& Randy) Lovell.
Sibyl loved animals, gardens, coffee, and enjoying books with her friends at the Elk Grove Senior Center. She is survived by younger sisters Elma Keenan (Camino CA) and Anita Keddy (Albuquerque NM), daughter Gale (Randy) Lovell, three granddaughters Amanda Prather, Shanna Hundley, Julie (Keith) Sweeney, and 7 great-grandchildren: Michaela, Brandon (Cranfield), Ian, Aaron, & Noah (Sweeney), and Charley Rose & Trenton (Prather).
Preceded in death by husbands Vernon Cranfield (1985), Walter Miller (2005), and son Kenneth E. Cranfield (2004). Her family sincerely appreciates the thoughtful and compassionate care provided by the teams from Vitas Hospice and Florin HealthCare.
Per Sibyl’s request, no formal ceremonies will be held; a visitation will take place on Sat, April 21st (12 noon – 5:00 pm) at East Lawn Elk Grove, 9189 Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove CA 95624.
