Obituary

Shirley A. Moss, 73, of Sacramento, CA died peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. She spent her final days in the comfort of her own home surrounded by loving friends and family before she drifted off to be with the Lord.

Shirley was born on Feb. 21, 1939 in Oktaha, Oklahoma to Wallace and Jettie Lucille Turner. Her birth was welcomed by her two older brothers, Glen Turner and Wayne Turner and they added another sister, Sharon Turner (Shuba), to the family a few years later. In 1951, the Turner family moved to Sacramento, California. Shirley graduated from Sacramento High School in 1957. After graduation, she began her secretarial career at McClellan Air Force Base and was later employed for the California Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church where she faithfully served for over 33 years.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of nearly 53 years, Edward Moss. Her family legacy grew over the years to include her 2 daughters: Denise Neuterman and Sheila Cardwell, her son-in-law: Duke Cardwell, her 6 grandchildren: Tyler and Elizabeth Cardwell, Chase Cardwell, Jordan Neuterman, Jensen Cardwell, and Will Cardwell, and 1 great-grandchild: Noah Cardwell – all of whom reside in Sacramento. She also leaves her brother Wayne Turner (Norva Lee) of Haskell, Oklahoma and her sister Sharon Shuba (Rich) of Auburn, California as well as many caring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Moss, Neuterman, and Cardwell families would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Sutter Hospice as well as Shirley’s caregivers, Rachel Rodriguez and Briana Padilla, who ensured Shirley’s final days were lived in comfort.

All her life, Shirley strove to live a loving, devoted, peaceful life while serving others. She will be missed by all.
