Sherry Marie Chiesa

Sep 22, 1951 - Oct 27, 2012

Sherry Marie Chiesa

Sherry passed away early Saturday morning on October 27th 2012.

She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania then moved to Salinas, California with her Mother and Father. While on the Monterey Peninsula she enjoyed time at the beach, the Blues Festivals, Jazz Festivals, Squid Festivals, Artichoke Festivals and any other event she could eat her way through with family and friends. Proud of her Native American heritage, Sherry tried to attend as many Native American gatherings as she could.

In 1999 Sherry moved to Sacramento California, to try something new. In Sacramento she focused on her passion, which was business accounting. After moving through a few jobs she found a home at S & P Sheet Metal where she was C.F.O. for twelve years. Under her leadership, she kept an industrial business running and profitable after the 2008 downturn.

Before Sherry passed she was able to fulfill a life long dream vacation to New York City, where she was able to explore the city the way she always dreamed. Other than that, on her downtime from being a business woman, she enjoyed relaxing with her dog “Chance” and watching old TV shows and old movies.

Sherry is survived by her two children, shopping partner Alicia, travel partner Brian and three grandchildren Anthony, Alyssa, and Taylor.  She also shared a lifelong friendship with the father of her children Mike. Then there was her adopted sister Dinice. She was preceded into death by her Mother, Father, Papa, and cousin Kim.

A Memorial service for Sherry will be held at 10:00 am on Friday November 9. 2012 in the chapel of East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary, located at 9189 East Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove (916) 732-2031.

The family asks that you wear something purple in memory of Sherry.

  • Liz says:

Please accept my deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of being Sherry’s neighbor when she moved to Sacramento. She loved talking about her family, work, and her love for animals. Sherry lived her life to the fullest and I don’t think she would have changed a thing. I will remember her as a bubbly, down to earth, kind-hearted, friend that always wanted to make sure everyone else was okay before she thought of herself. Sherry is in good hands and has started the next chapter of her life. Our life may not turn out the way we plan it but Gods plan for us always does. We will meet again. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and the days to come.

  • Mike C. Espinor says:

Oh my sweet, sweet “Sharon” for those of you that don’t know me I’m Mikey and we spent the last 12 yrs together. She was my employee, friend, mom, day-wife, partner. From the day we met there was chemistry, and it was cool! I never called her by her real name. Why? Because I’m crazy like that and she loved that side of me. Together we fought some serious battles, especially after the passing of my father 8 yrs ago. With her take no prisoner attitude we won them all! It was her who caught the recession unfolding in Aug 2007, and thank god I listened to her. It was her who helped me close down 1 company to start another. Together we saved a lot of families and ourselves from being unemployed. I truly believe she gave her life for the good of S&P Sheet Metal. I love u broad! Looking forward to seeing you again. Oh one last thing folks, that little 5′ 2″ 100# fireball carried a double-edged sword twice her size and weight, and she loved to use it. Don’t screw with “The Sheranator”

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I met Sherry several years ago through the Espinor’s. She always had a smile on her face and time to visit with you. She did love to talk! Her favorite was my butterscotch cake during the Christmas holidays. I always made sure she had her own when I took goodies to their office. I will always think of you Sherry every time I bake that cake. Rest in peace my dear, your life was good.
