Obituary

Rumel De Mesa De Ocampo was a loving son and brother. He passed away at home surrounded by his family after years of battling cancer on September 4, 2022.

Rumel was born in San Pablo City, Philippines on March 4, 1975, to Rufino and Melba De Ocampo. He moved to the United States with his family at the age of 16. After graduating from Florin High School, he enrolled at Sacramento City College where he received his associate’s degree. He later went on to work in the manufacturing sector, including rail manufacturing at Siemens Mobility in Sacramento.

Rumel loved sports. He was a devoted fan of the LA Lakers and the San Francisco 49ers. He never missed an important game. He always kept up with new developments with his favorite teams, and his sports knowledge was impressive.

Rumel also loved to travel. Over the years, he traveled to many countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. His favorite place to visit was Singapore. He loved sampling the diverse food found in the country, seeing its modern architecture, and learning about its culture.

Undoubtedly, the most important thing to Rumel was his family. He leaves behind his father, Rufino, his mother, Melba, and his sister, Maria.

The visitation is scheduled at East Lawn Sierra Hills on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 5 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 9 am.
