Obituary

Roberta “Bobbie” Smythe Hooker passed away on October 17, 2022 from complications relating to cancer. She was born in Denver, Colorado in 1938. She lived in five states and attended eight schools in grades 1-12. She loved schools, she believed in the good that could be done in them, and was a frisky fighter when she came upon someone who tainted that potential.

She leaves behind her husband of 62 years (Alvin Hooker); two children (Laura Eatough and Scott Hooker) and their spouses (Chris Eatough and Danielle Hooker); five grandchildren (Melissa MacCalla, Erin Eatough, Christopher Eatough, Rikki Hooker, and Rebecca Eatough) and their spouses (Andrew MacCalla, Allyssa Eatough, and Zach Ancell); seven great grandchildren (Sophie Eatough; Finley and Isla Bea MacCalla; and Cora, Audrey, Carlen, and Alden Eatough); and two sisters (Roz Smythe and Judy Logan).

Although Bobbie wrote much of her life in crayon, the parts that mattered were written in memories shared with family and friends. Bobbie always wanted to be known as a dancer. She learned to tap so she could make coins talk, but there was so much more dancing she wanted to do.

Spend some time with a child, take note of someone doing good every day of your life. Cherish the balcony of people in your life for they make the bows possible. While it matters that you are loved, what distinguishes us is the people we love. Bobbie loved the best of the best.

A celebration of life will be held at the Blue Goose in Loomis at 4:00 on November 30th.
