Robert O. Dickey (Bob)
Born in Kansas City, MO to Frank Dickey and Ruth Ohlwine. Preceeded in death by his beloved wife Della Dickey, mother Ruth Riley, step – father Harry Riley and step-brother Burke Riley (Mureld).
He passed away peacefully at the home of his niece, Melodie Moore (Mike) and sister in law Barbara Ray. In Concord, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was raised in long beach, CA and moved to Sacramento when Harry Riley was elected Controller of the State of California. (1949-46)
He enrolled in Military School and graduated from C.K. McClatchy High and Sacramento Jr. College and went on to be a Page at the State Capital before joining the U.S. Army in September of 1942. While serving in the Pacific Theater as clerk and Sergeant in the 641st Engineer Camouflage Company.. He was awarded the Bronze Star and was honorably discharged on Dec. 28th, 1945. He met and married Della Payton on Dec. 8th, 1951. Bob worked for Western Title Ins. Co. in Sacramento as a Title Examiner. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling to PGA Golf Tournaments. Bob and Della also belonged to the 49ers Fan Club that took them all over the United States and overseas.
He leaves behind his great-step-niece, Kathy Dalton (Al) of Benecia God-son Scott Fernald, great-nieces Melissa Alessio (Chris), Jennifer Bernd (Jason) ie: ” His Birthday Buddy) and many more nieces, nephews and friends. That were like family to him.
Funeral Services will be in the Chapel at East Lawn Memorial Park, 43rd & Folsom Avenues, Sacramento, on Friday January 13th , Vistiation will begin at 12:30 PM until time of funeral service at 2:00PM. In liey of flowers family requests donations to the Lewy Body Foundation Hospice of the East Bay. “Smile Train” of charity of your choice.

    To the family and friends of our Uncle Bob we would like to express our condolences and heartfelt thanks for all that you have added to his abundant life. He was such a delight to have with us these last 4 years, he will be missed, but it is comforting to know he will be with his Lord and family.
