WIMER, Rex L. Rex L. Wimer the loving husband of Chyrl Cose Wimer passed away at home on Dec. 27, 2014 in El Dorado Hills, CA. The son of Albert and Ellen Wimer was born on Oct 11, 1911 in NE. The family moved to Fresno when he was 5 years old. He retired from the Chevron Corp. in 1974 after 37 years of dedicated service. Rex was known for his compassion and his gentlemanly mannerism. Those who have blessed to have known him during his 103 years of life and fun will greatly miss him. The love of his life, Chyrl Cose Wimer predeceased him. His siblings Deliah “Sally”, Opal and Percy also predeceased him along with his brother-in-law Wayne, sisters- in-law Phyllis and Dorothy and two nephews Mike Corbett and Bob Barton. He is survived by his daughter Valarie (Jeff) Meldahl, granddaughter Rene Nicole, grandson Brett Haworth, great-grandson Jesse Haworth and great granddaughter Alexa Keller. Also survived by his sister-in-law Ila Cose, nieces and nephews Carole (Ray) Blanscet, Milton (Betty) Grau, Darlene (Stan) Spano, Chyrl Sue Ellis Sandusky, Steve (Alice) Ellis, Karen Cose Abercrombie, Doreen Cose Barton, Candy Corbett (John) Winter, Gary (Lynda) Bayless, James Bayless and Diana (Rob) Swonger. Great nieces and nephews Dave, Jim and Andy Blanscet, Laurie Blanscet Grant, Michael Grau, Stephen and Susanna Spano, Catherine Ellis Kirkland, Phillip and Taylor Sandusky, Andrea (Greg) Rosario, Christopher (Disa) Abercrombie, Ron (Tina) Barton, Amy Winter Carr, David (Erica) Winter, Jacob, Eli, Micah and Tristan Bayless, Brian and Tim Doss and all of their families. Rex had a special relationship with ggniece Arteah Rosario and ggnephew Lucah Rosario. Rex was a member of the Mother Lode Colony of the Mayflower Descendants, Masons Natoma Lodge #64, Past Master Justice at 549, San Francisco, Sacramento Scottish Rite Ben Ali Shrine, Folsom Shrine Club, Member of Ben Ali Temple Past Masters Club, Sons of the American Revolution Gold Country Chapter N07, Chevron Retirees Association of Sacramento, Natoma Chapter #233 Order of the Eastern Star, Folsom, CA. Rex served in the United States Navy as a Chief Mechanic during WWII and is a member of the VFW. Friends are welcome to attend the viewing Tues. Jan 6, 4:00-8:00pm and Wed. Jan 7, 9:00am-1:00pm and the service on Wed. Jan 7, at 2:00pm at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA with a reception following. Rex and the family would appreciate a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children at 2425 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95817 in lieu of flowers. –
