Obituary

Born september 28, 1950 in San Jose, CA. Peacefully passed away on July 26, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded to Nirvana by his parents Kazuo and Tsuchiyo Shigemoto and a brother Harry Shigemoto. He is survived by his loving wife Nora and sons Austin and Conrad as well as his sisters; Tee (James) Kogura, Teri (George-Deceased) Koshiyama & Jean (Bob) Ching. His brothers: John (Kathy), Fred (Mausi), Tom (Gale) & Dick (Corrine) along with sisters-in-law Miyo Shigemoto and Marguerite (Rod) Roberson; parents-in-law Win and Bettie Hill and his 12 Nieces and 12 Nephews, 9 grand nieces and 7 grand nephews. A 1968 graduate of Lincoln High School (San Jose) with an AA Degree from San Jose Community College he enjoyed showing his buddies his prowess as a golf, softball and poker player. An avid 49er and Giant fan as well as enthusiatic supporter of his sons’ activities, he was on disability retirement from his position as Program Director for the YMCA which he held is Sacramento, San Jose and Everett, Wash. He was also a well-respected Indian Guides leader and leaves behind a legion of young men whose lives he touched and made better. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. A private inurnment will be held at South East Lawn in Elk Grove.
