Patricia Keating Wright died on June 20, 2020, after a brief illness. She was born in San Francisco, California on August 14, 1951, to George and Patricia Keating. George was serving aboard a medical ship during the Korean War and was not present for the birth. Pat, not knowing what George would want to name his first child, gave her daughter her own name with the nickname “Patty.” Patty would be joined two years later by her sister Pam.
Patty grew up in Claremont, CA attending Claremont High School and graduating in 1969. She attended Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles and graduated in 1973, becoming a registered nurse. Patty served as a school nurse for a number of years before welcoming three girls with her first husband: Wendelin (Wendy) Wright of Lewisburg, PA; Kelly Brockett of Petaluma, CA; and Kimberly Smigielski of Moraga, CA. She would later work as a substitute school nurse and classroom aide. Some of the Wright girls’ fondest memories with Patty involve drive-in movies, weekend pancakes, camping trips, and cruising together with Patty’s parents. After nearly 50 years in California, Patty moved to Las Vegas, where she met and adopted a fourth daughter, Rainie Wright, whom she adored.
Patty was known for being extraordinarily kind and for her fierce unconditional love of her daughters. In addition to her four daughters, Patty is survived by their husbands (John Bravman, Lee Brockett, and Scott Smigielski) and seven grandchildren (Cole and Cooper Bravman; Gwendolyn, Gavin, and Adeline Brockett; and Graham and Grier Smigielski). Patty is also survived by her dear friend Robert Wright.
