GIBBS, Olive J. “Jean” Born November 2, 1929 in Sacramento, California to William J. & Julia O. Williams, Jean passed away peacefully on February 5, 2015. Preceded in death by her husband Donovan L. Gibbs and son Paul Scott Gibbs, she is survived by son Steven Perry and his wife Shellie of Placerville, California. She spent the next fourteen years working in the insurance industry in Sacramento and San Francisco, and for the Retail Clerks Union, before settling down in Arden Park to raise her family. Jean was an active member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, and was extremely proud to have received her 50 year pin from the order. She also greatly enjoyed being a member of the American Bell Association for several years. Jean enjoyed travelling, especially along the Pacific coast from Mendocino down to Monterey. She also loved gardening and any kind of needlecraft, including knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, and needlepoint. She is deeply missed by everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s honor to the Native Daughters Children’s Foundation, or the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
