Nenita Purisima Dasalla, age 68 of Sacramento, California, entered eternal rest on August 20, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at Mercy General Hospital. A graduate of Mary Chile’s College of Nursing in Manila, Philippines, she went on to work in Kuwait as a NICU nurse before moving to the United States to continue her career. A lifelong NBA fan, she watched all the games from the season’s beginning, up until the playoffs and wasn’t shy to show her support for the Kings. She welcomed all with open arms and was affectionately called “Mama,” even by those not related to her. In her free time, she loved cooking and baking, always making a batch of her bibingka to bring along to family get togethers, where she enjoyed bonding with loved ones and playing mahjong to pass the time. She is preceded in death by her parents Pantaleon and Remedios, as well as her sisters Lilia and Ehelfrida, and her brothers Rogelio and Melanio. She is survived by her husband Edgar, daughter Edinette, and siblings Delicia, Merlyn, and Nezi. We’ll remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Friends are welcome to attend a visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm, with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm, on Friday, September 16, 2022 at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, California. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church 7724 24th St., Sacramento. My deepest condolences to Manong Ed, Edinette & family. Manang Nenita was very welcoming whenever I was floated to her Davis 6 unit. She would always make sure I joined their group for lunch. She was hard working and loved her patients. She did everything with a smile! At Methodist hospital, I had the chance to work with her again. She made sure things get done and her coworkers were supported. She will be missed❤️🙏🏽

I would like to extend my condolences and prayers to Ed,Edinette and family. Nenita( Nanette) we were classmates in high school at St. Paul College(RosaryCollege) Vigan, Ilocos Sur. I was glad and thankful to our classmate Lynette for coordinating a mini reunion for our class’70 several years ago that I was able to see, share laughters and story telling that each one of us had. Nanette my friend, classmate you’ll be missed but not forgotten, Til we meet again! 🙏🙏

  • Bianca Concepcion + Juan Fontes (her favorite child) says:

We will miss you dearly Mama Dasalla! Ever since meeting her for the first time at the airport coming back from studying in London, my fiancé and I were treated like family, as if we were her children. When we would come to visit, we would always say hi to her and she would make sure we didn’t leave hungry even if we were only there for 10 min. We are so thankful for having the opportunity to meet her and will never forget that warm smile. We love you Mama Dasalla ❤️😊
