MORSE, Monty Marlin
was born in Sacramento, California on January 3, 1936 and passed away in Roseville on July 28, 2012. He was the son of the late Samuel and Eunice Morse, beloved husband of Sharon Kaerth Morse for more than 57 years, loving father of Robert Morse (Mary Abbe) and Debra Latteri (Richard), adored grandfather of Naomi, Amanda, Nick, Jason (dec.), Jacque, Lindsey, Laith, and Ahmed, and cherished great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren. He served in the South Pacific for the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at CSUS. Monty proudly served 22 years as a Sacramento City Police Officer and Youth Services Officer, followed by serving several years as executive director of Sacramento PAL. Monty served one year as a member of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Bosnia, He was a 32nd degree Mason Union Kit Carson, #58. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Ben Ali Shrine, volunteered for the Shrine Hospital Transportation Committee, was a Past Waggonmaster for the Bedouin RV Club, and enjoyed playing the calliope in many parades on behalf of the Ben Ali Shrine.
A celebration of life will be held for Monty on Sunday, August 5th at 2:00PM at the Ben Ali Shrine Center located at 3262 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95815
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Shrine Childrenâ€™s Hospital.
