Grandmother to Kathryn Suponch(Brian) and Laura Jordan. She leaves behind her sister Faye Yarbrough, her brother Willie Justice, and many relatives on the East Coast. The 7th of 10 children, Minnie was born on Sept. 23, 1929 to Roy and Millie Justice whose farm was located in Jacksonville, NC. She met her loving husband Kermit in Washington DC while working at the Pentagon in 1952. After being discharged from the Navy, Kermit and Minnie married July 9, 1953 and moved to San Jose, CA where Kermit graduated from San Jose State. Upon graduation they moved to Sacramento, CA where Minnie was a stay-at-home mom while Kermit worked at McClellan AFB. Kermit’s job gave the family chances to travel and live in South Dakota, Kansas and Washington prior to them moving back to Fair Oaks, CA in 1965, and finally settling in Sacramento in 1968 where he worked at McClellan until his death in 1981. Minnie continued to live in Foothill Oaks where she gardened and shared flowers and figs with friends and neighbors until the age of 82. For the last 3 years of her life, Minnie resided at Alexander’s Residence for Seniors in Elk Grove, CA. Her loving caregivers took great care of her! A memorial service will be held on June 2, 2017 at 2PM at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park in Elk Grove, CA. Minnie will be laid to rest next to her husband Kermit at the family cemetery this August during the weekend of her family reunion in NC.

  • Lou Anne Styrsky Merriam says:

My mom Ella Styrsky and I just learned about your mother. Minnie used to stop by Mom’s to deliver a fresh-cut bouquet and sit with her on the front porch bench before continuing the walk home. She really got around the old neighborhood and beyond on foot! To everything, there is a season; we extend our sympathy to each of you in this season of mourning.
