Obituary

Mary was born on May 24, 1923 in Abiquiu, New Mexico. She went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Eliseo Marcelino Valdez; mother Aurelia Apodaca; father Romolo Quintana; and brother Jose De La Cruz Quintana.

Survived by her 4 daughters, Mary Asher, Rosabell Valdez, Dolores Cook (Bill) and Gloria (Steve) Bushong; and 10 sons, Eligio (Esther), Donaciano ‘Andy’ (Carmen V.) Rugelio, Claudio, Louis, James (Grace S.), Joseph, Julian, Robert and George; and 33 very supporting grandchildren and 36 great- grandchildren.

Mary lived her dream of having a big family whom she loved, adored and cherished. She was a very religious mother who passed on her love of a prayerful life to her children and grandchildren. One of Mary’s greatest joys in life was having family gatherings where she enjoyed music and dancing. She enjoyed talking about her childhood and how much she enjoyed life in New Mexico. She took many trips back to New Mexico, Salt Lake and Colorado visiting many of her friends and relatives with her husband Eliseo.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend her viewing and rosary on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at East Lawn Memorial Park & Mortuary on 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA from 4-8pm.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Anne’s Parrish, 7724 24th Street, Sacramento, CA followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
