  • Michael Keeley says:

I first met Marlon in our ARM 56 course. He struck me as a cool guy, very practical and no nonsense. He had a very matter of fact way of handling people, just treat them fairly and all will be OK. I truly respected him and will miss him as a friend and colleague.

  • Kate says:

I met Marlon many years ago @ Milhous. We worked closely together for many years and reconnected at the district. I remember hearing many heartfelt stories about his family, especially his children. He loved you all. He is already missed.

  • Beth Failor says:

Remembering Marlon from FOP…also, more recently, his comments on FOP Days Facebook Group. I appreciated his supportive words of truth. It is good to know he was faithful to the end.

  • Jayne Sherman says:

Marlon was a quiet, strong influence on me in my teen years. Youth group, a mission trip or two…he impacted my life and I thank God for using him to guide me. Praise Jesus we will see him again!

  • Terry Ottlinger says:

Marlon I remember meeting you back in the early 80’s when you first met Carol – quiet and with such amazing soulful eyes, which I will never forget. Thank you for being with my Mamasita during her last days this year and I know she has welcomed you with warm arms into heaven, along with all your loved ones who have gone before you. You will be missed and always loved.

  • Jean Uhrich says:

High school track meets. Motorcycle rides, pre-helmet laws, hair flying, holding tight. Family dinners. Quiet prayer in a fragrant summer garden. Frying homemade won tons at 2 am. Guitar, fiddle, and flute at Fox and Goose. College graduations. Night shifts, back to back for overtime, with SED patients. Soul searchings. Friendships tested. Unfinished business. Grace upholds us all. Thank you Lord for holding Marlon in your tender care. Waiting for my eyes to behold yours again. Peace to our souls.

  • Lori (Broome) VanHamersveld says:

I am so saddened to here of Marlon’s passing. I sang with him at Bella Vista High School and again during the Christmas season at FOPC. He was a wonderful man. God bless you all and may God bring comfort during this difficult time.

  • Jan & Janice Lynch says:

Marlon: When I first started attending Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, you made me feel so welcome. When my wife Janice attended Casa Roble High School, you invited her to Youth Group. You were such a kind hearted man! I hope that the sadness and sorrow I saw in your eyes at Larry Rhodes Celebration Of Life Reception has now been replaced with the joy & happiness you’re experiencing with Jesus. With Love, Jan & Janice Lynch

  • Tara La Marr says:

Marlon, you were such a sweet guy. I am sad that you are gone, way too soon. Say hello to Hal for me and share some jokes together. Hugs, Tara

  • Lee from Athens says:

Marlon went out of his way to make me feel welcome as a visitor to CA and the world of school risk managers. We enjoyed a few meals at conferences btw 2010-2012. I felt he was someone who operated on a high personal and professional level, willing to share with me and others his insights and joy. My life was blessed by meeting him.
