Jun 3, 1929 - Mar 23, 2016
Surrounded by her loving Children and Grandchildren in her final moments in her home in Elk Grove, California; Marinelle (Mary) Aston (King) passed away on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016. Mary was the youngest of 6, Born on June 3rd, 1929, in Bledsoe, Texas. She moved with her mother to California where she met her late husband, William (Bill) Leslie Aston. They were married on June 20th, 1948 where they remained happily married for 60 years, until her husband passed in 2008. She was a long-standing member of Capital City Baptist Church, the book keeper for the family business, and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader, kept beautiful house plants and roses, and among her many culinary skills made candy every year for every member of her family. She was a collector of bells, dolls, plates and figurines and Precious Moments were found in every corner of her home.
Mary carried the spirit of southern hospitality with her to California. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends. Even when they went camping, her cooking equipment went with her in their modified Bus RV. She never missed a birthday and threw a party for her loved ones at every holiday. Christmas in particular was always full of fun, food, and a multitude of family and friends.
On their 50th wedding anniversary the family happily revisited those early years of dancing and fun before the family business and the care of her children and grandchildren became her greatest priority and pleasure. No matter how busy life became, she always found time to entertain in her own home, at the family cabin(where many memories were made), or when traveling in the RV.
When Mary was diagnosed with a rare disease, she stumped the medical profession with her feisty spirit by recovering and spending five more years living alone. Although she no longer was able to cook, she still had many holiday parties at her home and continued to be generous in spirit welcoming all who came to see her, and making sure that a meal was always available to all who chose to enjoy her company and fine hospitality.
She is survived by her brother, Henry Lee King; Her five children: William Aston Jr., Richard Aston, Teresa (Aston) Riggins, Paul Aston, and Pat Aston; and her 14 grand-children: William Leslie Aston III, Shannon Aston, Jason Aston, Justin Aston, Mark Riggins, Heather Riggins, Josiah Aston, Danielle Aston, Nathaniel Aston, Tiffany Aston, Felicia Aston, Naomi Aston, Courtney (Aston) Seagondollar, Cameron Aston; and her 5 great grand-children: Taylor-Marie Aston, Brennen Aston, Bryce Aston, Scarlett Aston, and Kasidy Aston as well as numerous extended family and friends.
