Obituary
After years of chronic illness’ Marie passed peacefully on June 3, 2015.
She was surrounded by family and friends as she made her way home.
Marie was born and raised in Gridley, California. The daughter of Archie and Grace Vines and sister to seven siblings. After graduating in 1946 from Gridley H.S. Marie achieved her Cosmetology license and proudly retained its active status for over 50 years.
Always with a sense of style and loving warm smile, she will be remembered for hosting large family gatherings, delicious food and of course “Gimlets”. Her love of singing with the choir carried her well into her late eighties. She was a beloved member of the PTL Ceramics group and cherished time with friends she made there. Marie enjoyed many hobbies but as a nature lover, camping and fishing were always closet to her heart as were children and animals.
Marie is survived by her children, Mel Pechart Jr. and wife Rosemary of Mexico, Daphne Harmon and husband Mike of Citrus Heights with whom she had been residing and brother James (Jim) Vines of Gridley. Marie was blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving nieces, nephews and their children.
The family has chosen August 8, 2015 to Celebrate Marie’s Life.
