Manley Paul Johnson passed away January 5, 2016 in Orangevale, California. Born November 11, 1917 in Dunlap, Missouri to Meurl and Eldora Johnson; with two surviving sisters, Bonnie Beam of Citrus Heights, CA and Beulah Rake of Murrieta, CA.
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Paul is survived by his wife, Luce Olive Johnson, of 73 years; his son, Harold (Linda) of Roseville, CA, and daughters Marjorie Drake, (Austin) of Merced, CA, Betty Ferris(William) of Folsom, CA, and Linda Johnson, of Citrus Heights, CA; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Paul served with the California Conservation Corp. He was a farmer and dairyman and retired as a machinist from Southern Pacific Railroad in 1979. He and Luce enjoyed traveling around the United States and Canada in their 5th wheel trailer, visiting friends and family. He was proud to be a Mason and had recently received his 75 year Pin. We will miss his words of wisdom and his stories about his interesting life.
Graveside services will be held on Jan. 12, 2016 at 10:00AM at the East Lawn Mortuary at 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
