Madalena A. 'The Star' Lerone
Jan 1, 1970 - Mar 18, 2014
Madalena Anita (Martinelli) Lerone passed away peacefully on March 18, 2014 at the age of 90.
Madalena was born July 13, 1923 in Sacramento California and attended Holy Names College in Oakland California where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in music. Her passion to perform steered her off the course of becoming a music teacher and onto her destined path of being a professional entertainer. She spent her life playing the accordion, piano and singing for countless people and celebrities, her favorites being Richard Nixon, Shirley Temple Black and Ronald Reagan. Her last performance was February 15, 2014 at her brother Philip and Phylis Martinelli’s 50th wedding anniversary. She lived to entertain!
She married Alphonso Peter Lerone on September 7, 1947 in Oakland. Together they were the proud parents of three children, Thomas Lerone, Christina Malone and Angela Lopez, and seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She spent her last few years residing at Carlton Plaza in San Leandro where she was given the nickname Senora Gaga because of her outlandish costumes and sunglasses. She always had a smile on her face and a new pair of crazy glasses that put a smile on everyone else’s face. She will be missed by so many.
Services will take place at Andrews & Grelich Mortuary, 3939 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820 on Monday March 24th at [2:00]. Reception will follow at the Dante Club of Sacramento at 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd.
