Obituary
Luis Dano Digal, 93, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Eulalia Pacatang Digal; his three sons Consor Digal, with wife, Eve; Nick Digal, with wife, Mayette; and Jessie Digal; seven daughters Mel Maybuena, with husband, Jun; Gloria Beldad, with husband, Rock; Dee Norono, with husband, Remy; Susie, with husband Rey; Annie, with husband, Roland; Rio Digal-Tolang; and Theresa Rivera, with husband, Wilton, twenty grandkids, eight great-grandkids, and many close friends.
Born and raised in Sevilla, Bohol, Philippines, the son of Sulpicio and Apolonia Digal, he was a lifelong resident of Sevilla, Bohol. In his early years, he served in the Philippine Army during the Second World War. His sense of civic duty did not stop as the war ended; he continued to serve as the town councilor for 12 years. He not only took pride of his position as a councilor, but truly relished the friends he made during his terms. He arrived in the United States when he has seventy years old and continued to work for another ten years.
Viewings will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 1 to 4 pm and Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary; located at 9189 East Stockton Blvd, in Elk Grove (916) 732-2031. A Vigil Service will be held at the same location on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 6 pm.
The Funeral Service will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10 am. Burial will be at East Lawn Elk Grove Cemetery followed by a 1 pm reception at The Pavilion at Elk Grove Regional Park.
