Obituary

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

We are sad to announce the passing of our devoted and caring mother, Lourdes Ayson Guevarra, 91 years old and 9 months. She died peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Kaiser South Hospital surrounded by her family by her side.

She was born on January 15, 1931 in Potrero, Pampanga, Philippines. She married Salvador Guevarra in the 1950’s and the two were each other’s lifelong companion.

They were blessed with 9 wonderful children: Danilo, Elizabeth, Amado, Avelina, Josefina, Isidro, Amelita, Edgardo, and May, as well as 24 beautiful grandchildren.

Lourdes is loved by everyone because she devoted her time in caring for others and ensuring that all her loved ones were happy. She’s one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She opened her heart and her home to many and she’ll surely be missed forever. Her hobbies are sewing, shopping, fishing, cooking, and taking care of her grandkids.

It hurts seeing your daughter cry. You were loved Lourdes. I will never forget your delicious cooking, to this day I haven’t eaten pancit so delicious as yours. You cooked Kare Kare on my birthdays. You were so special and May’s friends become part of your family. I admired your devotion to May’s kids and often teased May that you were the actual mom to her kids. I know Joshua preferred sleeping with you. I will never meet anyone with such a big heart as yours. Wish I could have told you all this while you were alive. Love you and will miss you so much. Only comfort I have is that you will be with Jesus when he come get us.

Atching Luding was a second mother to me until I was fourth year high school in San Antonio, Bacolor I used to sneaked and dukot her cooking. Until one day I was bitten by scorpion. We know how it feels being poor and hungry. Now we cherish what we have and being thankful. Because my parents lived in Manila it was a survival for me being a hungry kid. Atching Luding was very generous and kind. Please accept our sincerest condolences and please read my note in the viewing if you can. Thank you.
