Lloyd Martin Brown

Dec 23, 1919 - Apr 10, 2015

Lloyd M. Brown, age 95, died Friday, April 10, 2015 in Sacramento after a short illness.
He leaves his wife of 67 years, Eileen (Brewer) Brown; his son, Gregory Brown and his wife, Karen Bryan; his daughter, Teresa (Brown) Edmiston and her husband Tom Edmiston; his son, Randy Brown; his son, David Brown and his wife Tanya Brown; 13 grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many close friends.
Born in Ashland, Oregon, the son of Charles and Mary Brown, he was a long-time resident of Sacramento.
After serving as a Radar Technician in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Lloyd moved to Sacramento where he met his wife, Eileen, and they married in 1947 at the Methodist Church in Elk Grove.
He started work as a Cadastral Drafting Technician with the County of Sacramento in 1959 and retired as the Supervising Cadastral Drafting Technician in 1984.
Lloyd enjoyed traveling and camping with his family for many years. After his retirement, he and Eileen continued to travel, hauling a large fifth-wheel travel trailer around the country. He pursued his passion for art and completed classes in oil painting at a local community college. He produced many fine paintings, several of which are proudly displayed in the homes of his children. He enjoyed square dancing with Eileen for many years and relished the friendships he developed in the square dance community. He enjoyed his time with friends and family and found great joy in having a glass of single-malt scotch while playing card games with those he loved.
Friends and relatives are welcome at a grave-side service, which will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, April 18 at East Lawn, Elk Grove Memorial Park, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove. Light refreshments will be served at the East Lawn Reception Hall after the service.
