Leoncia Joson Delmundo

Sep 12, 1940 - Jan 27, 2017

Leoncia ‘Leony’ DelMundo, age 75, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on January 28, 2017 at the Kaiser North hospital in Sacramento, CA. She will be remembered by her family and friends that loved her dearly.

Leony was born in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines on September 12, 1940, the daughter of Maximo (deceased) and Maria (deceased). She is the loving sister to Alexandra ‘Anday’ (deceased), Amado ‘Manding’, Narciso ‘Siso’ (deceased), Macario (deceased), Pacita (deceased), Susana ‘Susing’, and Florencio ‘Boy’. She immigrated to California in 1973, having homes in Oakland, Hayward and Fremont before settling in Elk Grove in 1993. Leoncia is also the beloved mother of Melissa, Ariel, and Nicholas (deceased). She took great pride in her loved ones and has a special place in her heart for her five grandchildren Austin, Danielle, Nathan, Ilana, and Talyse as well as Melissa’s husband, Scott, and Ariel’s wife, Janene. She dedicated her life to her family, loving them unconditionally.

Not only did Leoncia have a rich family life, she was also a working mother with a 30-year career as an electronics assembler for many companies including Atari, Hewlett Packard, and Apple. She adored her co-workers and the many friends she made in the community. Known for being a generous, loving, and kind woman with a gentle disposition, Leony always helped those she could without thought of return. She had an amazing talent for growing plants and a passion for traveling the world with her friends.

Leony is now resting in paradise after succumbing to head injury due to a hemorrhage, leaving behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Her family wants to give a special thank you to everyone whose hearts she has touched in some way and has shown her love in return.
Leoncia’s family welcomes everyone to the Visitation / Rosary service on February 9, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and to her Celebration of Life service on February 10, 2017 at 11:00 am. Both will be at the East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park, 9189 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624.
