LaVerne Rosetta Graf
08/19/1922 – 01/03/2012
Born on Aug. 19, 1922 in Gackle, North Dakota, LaVerne Rosetta Graf of Sacramento, CA went to be with the Lord on Jan. 3, 2012. One of five children, she grew up in a small farm community. After high school she won a scholarship to Jamestown College. On June 26, 1943 LaVerne married Al who had just graduated from flight cadet training school as an army lieutenant, on the day of their wedding. During the war years they were stationed in San Antonio, TX. After the War she and Al moved to Stockton, CA.
Soon after, they moved to Sacramento where she eventually entered the teaching profession.
LaVerne was an extraordinary woman – strong-willed, determined and disciplined. She was an insatiable reader, lover of learning, seasoned traveler, student of the arts (especially opera) and a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and faithful friend to many near and far. A woman of unwavering Christian faith LaVerne was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church and most recently Faith Presbyterian. She will be dearly missed.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al; sisters Thelma and Lucille, brothers Erwin and Clem. She is survived by her daughters Diane, Debbie and Barbara, sons-in-law Randy Roth, Henry Skall and Dwight Filler, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would especially like to thank Doctors Daniel Ikeda and James Lee, and Caregivers Denise Duncan, Angela Schaaf and Patty Dobbins.

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on Thurs., Jan. 19, 11:00 am at Faith Presbyterian Church, 625 Florin Rd., Sacramento.
