Obituary

Lanette Gezahegne was born on November 15th, 1953 in Stockton California to Lacey Cravens Jr. and Oleta Cravens. She was the oldest of four children. Preceding her in death are her Father Lacey, and her sister Elaine Williams. She graduated from Edison High School in 1971 and attended San Jose State University. Lanette was a long-time resident of Stockton California and then moved to Elk Grove in 2004.
On April 16th 1976, Lanette married Yemane Daniel Gezahegne to which two daughters were born Leah Sapp and Kristina Gezahegne. She had a forty-three year career in banking holding serval positions throughout the years. She finished her career with Golden 1 Credit Union.
Lanette was a loving, loyal, compassionate, kind hearted, amazing human being. She gave unconditional love to everyone she encountered. It was not uncommon for Lanette to strike up conversations with strangers or provide hugs to anyone who needed one. She was loved by and has touched the lives of many people.
Lanette is survived by her two daughters, Leah Sapp (Charles Sapp), Kristina Gezahegne (Louis Jackson) and their father, Y. Daniel Gezahegne. Her mother Oleta Cravens, brothers Michael and Brian Cravens, several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

    My memories of Lanette were watching her cheer at the football and basketball games attending homecoming when she was crowned Homecoming Queen and Seeing her in Toal Hall and remembering that beautiful smile. RIP Lanette
