Katherine (Kay) Louise Cotton Jones (69) passed away suddenly, January 16, 2014, from complications of blood clots and organ failures at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Kay was born May 7, 1944 to William Merle and Luella Mae Cotton in San Jose, CA.
Kay attended schools in Merced, CA until age 16 when she traveled to Burma to live with an Uncle and Aunt and attend her Junior Year of school. Kay and her guardians then moved to Kabul, Afghanistan where Kay graduated from High School with a class of 7.
Kay worked for Sacramento County Children’s Protective Services for 16 years and retired from there in 2002.
She married Raymond (Ray) Jones April 11, 1998, in Rancho Cordova, CA. They later moved to Lewiston, Idaho and currently reside in Clarkston, WA.
Kay had an avid passion for Bingo and played mostly every day. She just returned from her fifth Bingo Cruise. The latest four accompanied by her daughter.
Kay is survived by her husband Ray Jones, son Bryan Lawson of Pahrump, NV, daughter Sandy Lawson aka Samantha Skye of Carmichael, CA, Mother Luella Mae Cotton and sisters Luella (Toni) Thomas and Patricia and Robert Scoble, 3 Grandchildren, six Great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her father, William Cotton. Kay will live forever in our hearts and memories and be greatly missed by all who loved her. We miss you Katydid!!
Inurnment will be at East Lawn Columbarium, Sacramento County, CA.
