Obituary

Juanita was born to Joseph and Bertha South in Lake City, Arkansas on January 29, 1918. She was working as a waitress in Michigan when she married Aubrey Rogers on November 12, 1942. In April of 1953 they moved to CA where she went to work for Brownie’s restaurant for a few months before going to work for Raley’s Supermarket as a Butcherette until she retired in 1970.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey, children Earlene Henry and Donald Henry and three brothers. She is survived by her son Wayne, daughters Kay Sinor (Larry) Linda Taylor (Dan), Pattie (Mike Wright) and stepson Rolan Rogers (Ellen) sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren as well as three brothers and three sisters.

In 1965 they moved from Sacramento to Rancho Cordova and joined the First Baptist Church of Rancho Cordova.

Juanita was an excellent cook and loved to make sure everyone was always fed. In addition she loved flowers and took exceptional pride. In her rose garden.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA.
