Obituary
Joseph R. Biagioni, Jr. passed away on September 2, 2014 at the age of 82 in his home town of
Sacramento, California. He married his soul mate, Carol Ann, almost 29 years ago. They were joined at the
heart as if one person. After a tour of duty in the Air Force as a Korean War draftee, Joseph began his
career as an Electronic Technician with the Civil Service at Mather AFB. Later he worked for Aerojet until
retirement. His most prominent position at Aerojet was Director of the Polaris Missile Program (technical
advisor in Scotland). Once retired, he joined Lockheed in support of the nuclear weapons reductions
program (SALT Treaty), specifically Russian weapons. Part of his career took place in Scotland where he
established close ties to James & Connie Cameron, their two daughters Susan & Christine.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Rick (Sandy), Steve (Debbie), James (Lori) Biagioni; Kathy
(Mark) Owens, Damon (Lisa) Frank and Holly (David) Tolbert; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Eugenia Isolabella (Tommy) Petersen, Father Joseph R. (Rene)
Biagioni, Sr. and beloved daughter, Aileen Biagioni.
There are no words to express the impact that Joseph had on his family, friends and community. God has
received a patient, loving and compassionate man.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Viewing, 4 – 8 p.m., Thursday, September 11, and Funeral
service, 2 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014, both to be held the East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane,
Sacramento, CA 95841. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital
in the name of Aileen Biagioni.
