PANTOJA, Jose Enrique
A retired Army Veteran and 30+ year employee of the Pacific Fruit Express Railroad, passed away at home surrounded by his family in Sacramento on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, after battling cancer. He was 85 years old. Born in 1926 in Los Angeles, Mr. Pantoja served in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Jose married Imelda and settled in the Sacramento area where they had their two sons, Joe and Chris. Mr. Pantoja was fondly called, ‘Henry’, ‘Jose’, and ‘Apa’ by those close to him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling. He always had time for a ‘double shot’ and will be missed very much. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Imelda; children, Jose Pantoja II, Chris and his wife Kimberly; four grandchildren, Jose Pantoja III, David, Jordyn Marie, and Christopher; and his niece Olivia and husband Lee Hanger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Pantoja Cruz. Funeral services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery at 4300 Folsom Blvd. on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 10:30 am. Arranged by GEORGE L.
