Our prayers and sympathies are with the Petersen family during this sad time. Ian was a special young man and made us all especially proud with his selfless patriotism. • Carthan Davis and Family says:

Phil & Jennifer. Our hearts are so heavy right now. We will miss Ian so much. We already do. I remember my last conversation with him. He had that beautiful hopeful smile that gave me comfort. Brandon is overcome with grief knowing his dear friend and fellow military comrade is gone and he will not be able to come to California for the services. Ian was our son (from another mother). He called me “Mom” when he was in our home. Oh, how we will miss him. Please know that you guys raised a loving, kind, brave and well-mannered son. Our prayers and hearts are with you. May the peace of God comfort you always.

  • Jen Magdaleno says:

Jenny, Phil, and Gwen: I have the best and fondest memories of spending time with your family. From BBQ’s to Christmas parties to singing tours to Gloria Dei church services; all of those times were even more joyous because of Ian’s wide smile and infectious laughter. one of my favorite memeories of him was riding together in Kathleen Flint’s minivan for lengthy stretch of the trip on singing tour. Since there was never anything but show tunes playing in that car, Ian made the best of it and started signing right along with us, LOUDLY! He always knew how to join in the fun, and was such a positive light to be around. There’s no way to express how sorry I am for your loss, but I will continue praying right along-side the rest of your friends and family for God’s overwhelming peace to come over you during this time of mourning. He left us too early, but God be glorified that he is up in heaven watching over us now.
