Obituary

Huey P. Baker was born to the late parents of Hursey Baker Sr. and Lillie Mae Baker on November 2, 1951 in Lake Village, Arkansas. Huey P. Baker received his education in Lake Village, Arkansas. After graduating from Horace Mann High School, he relocated to California in 1970.
In 1972 he met the love of his life Peggy A. Mitchell. Later tying the knot in August of 1973. Out of their unity two beautiful children were born, LaQueta Lee Baker and Huey P. Baker Jr.
Huey P. Baker was employed by Gerber Baby Food Co., as a maintenance mechanic later being promoted to Supervisor. After the closing of Gerber Baby Food Co., he went back to school at the Center for Employment and receive a degree in Maintenance Mechanic. Huey P. Baker later became employed by Campbell’s Soup where he stayed and retired in 2013.
He received Christ in 1989 and was a member of Ollie Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Elvin Baker his uncle.
He was full of life, radiating with love and overflowing with kindness. He loved to go and do fishing, hunting, cooking and working on cars. Above all he loved his family the most.
Huey Baker’s legacy will forever embrace the hearts of his loving wife Peggy A. Baker and their children, daughter,
LaQueta (Roy) Lynch, son Huey P. Baker, Jr.
Granddaughters: Breanna S. Martin, Marisa A. Martin
Brothers: John Fisher (deceased), Huston (Shirley) Baker, Hursey (Irene) Baker, and Lee Baker.
Sisters: Bettye Stills, Lula Mae Baker, and Alfreda (Reggie) Baker -Palmer
Sister-in law: Debra (Jeffrey) Walston
He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    I remember us coming to California many of times and going fishing in that big boat. Also not to mention when he came to Arkansas and spending time at Grandma house. Uncle Huey, you will be deeply missed! I love you!

      I remember when my brother was born I was so happy to have a play mate and that happiness never ended for 67 years, He was a happy person, joyful, and adventuress, good at cracking jokes, Huey and I started hunting together in our home state of Arkansas I was about 14 and Huey 12 years old and We never stop hunting and fishing together never stop loving each other, He was more than a Brother to Me He was also a friend and I am going to miss Him dearly but will Never forget Him He will always be in My Heart.

    Lil Huey P you will truly be Missed by your family and friends.. Huey I remember when you came to LR to stay with aunt Rose then you packed up and move to Ca with your aunt Selene ( my mom ). Huey we had so much fun doing crazy things but God kept us. After all we’ve been through. Love You Cousin gonna miss all the jokes.
