Blessings and light yo the Hand family. Between 6 Hand children and 8 Penrose children, we had quite a crowd! I have fond memories of Mr. Hand who we got a kick out of calling him “Hezekiah”! I loved the warm summer nights when we all got to have homemade vanilla ice cream with sugared boysenberries on top and sat on the lawn to wait for State Fair fireworks! Fond memories growing up on Ortega Street…… My your soul be granted eternal rest “Buck”, we will miss you!

  • Your granddaughter Debbie says:

As your first grandchild, I have so many wonderful memories with you & grandma. You were a quiet & gentle man & I feel blessed to have had you as a grandpa. I remember of course the homemade vanilla ice cream, the candy bars you always kept in the sock drawer, watching Hee Haw with you on Sundays, going to Idaho, Yellowstone Park, the World Fair, & many State fairs. I remember many Hand family picnics. I remember when I found out I was having a son & I said I should name him after you. You said please don’t Hezekiah is a rough name to grow up with. I thought it was unique, just like you. I always felt like you were the guardian as you stood on the porch & watch us leave your house. You did that every time I visited. I sure do miss that. I love you to the moon & back. Rest in peace now with grandma.
