Henry Kin Chun Hung passed away on October 27, 2015 in Elk Grove, CA. He was 81.

Henry was born December 12, 1933 in Taishan, Guangzhou Province, China. He lived a full, hard-working life that included working as a bank teller in the International Currency Exchanged department in Hong Kong, weightlifting and body-building in his spare time, and fulfilling his dream of being an American business owner and chef extraordinaire. Henry and his first wife Rose Sikuk Yu Hung owned Foon Ying Chinese Restaurant in Indianapolis, IN from 1972-1997, while raising three daughters Margaret, Susan, and Rosemary. After the death of Sikuk in 1997, he remarried and retired in Elk Grove, CA, where he lived with his wife Grace Huici Hung and their son Jason.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Sikuk, and grandson Michael Fong. He is survived by wife Grace Huici Hung, daughters Margaret Fong (Peter), Susan Boberschmidt (Andrew), Rosemary Huff (Brian), son Jason Hung, 3 grandchildren, and 2 grand-dogs. Other survivors include 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at East Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Elk Grove on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 10am-12pm with services and burial to follow.

    Even though I hadn’t seen him for a while, I will never forget how Henry would make me laugh. He also used to make a special fried rice for me without eggs. He was a great cook! RIP Henry.
