Helen and her sisters Letha and Mildred went to high school in Rock Island, Ill., where her father was the school principal. While growing up she enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, and visiting relatives on their farms during summer vacations in southern Illinois. Devoted and loving wife to L.G. Williams for 49 years until his death in 1993. They married during World War II on November 19, 1944. Helen always had something nice to say and had a warm and happy personality.
