Guy Gordon Chinn

Born April 5, 1924 in San Jose, California. He had two brothers and five sisters. Passed away in Folsom, California on September 13, 2012 at the age of 88.

He served as a Corporal in the US Army Air Corps during WWII with the Flying Tigers in China Burma India.

After his service, he performed various construction jobs; moved to Sacramento in 1951 and worked at McClellan AFB.

Guy began his 30+ year career in State Service as a Draftsman at the Department of Public Works. He retired as a Facilities Planner for the Department of General Services in 1985.

Active in Sacramento Chinese Golf Club and was one of the co-founders of the Sacramento Vagabonds Golf Club.

Survived by his sisters Lucille Gong (San Jose) and Betty Tong (San Francisco); three children from Folsom, Allan Chinn (Lynne); Marilyn Kurosaka (Donald); Roberta Chinn; and one in San Jose, George (Rebecca); seven grandchildren,   Ryan Chinn, Shelly Smit (Jed), Douglas Kurosaka, Lisa Kurosaka, Jeffrey Kurosaka, Joshua Chinn, Jasmine Chinn; and a great granddaughter, Jocelyn Tham.

A private memorial service will be held at the East Lawn Memorial Park for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane, Centennial, Colorado 80112.

    I love and miss you always gramps I heard that ppl become their best selves in heaven I hope u are at peace with everyone u love I’m glad I was able to take u shopping and out to eat at our favorite Asian buffet as u did for me when I was little. Thank you for raising me taking me in as your own as a granddaughter and always letting everyone know I was wherever we went I’ll never forevet all the great things u taught me growing up, golf where to go for the best dim sum,jade even about yourself when I did my 6grade report on your were the biggest influence in my life You were my real grandpa and I’ll always keep u close to my heart.
