George Robert Silvers

George Robert Silvers was born on November 4th, 1931 on his father’s birthday in Sacramento California. Preceded in death by his parents George Burnett Silvers and Margaret Hunn Silvers, their only child. Survived by his love of 31 years Lucy Fields, his children Christopher Silvers, Kerri Silvers, Kelly Osgood, his grandchildren Reagan, Zack and Luke Silvers, McKenzie Smith, Branden Green and Justin Osgood. He attended the Immaculate Conception parish where he proudly served as an altar boy. He graduated from Christian Brothers School and later went on to attend Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. He spent his career with California Builders Hardware in San Francisco, CA which spanned fifty years during which time he ascended to partner. In the 1970s he and his family relocated to Rohnert Park, where he resided until his passing on March 8th. An avid sports fan he was passionate about baseball. He remained a loyal fan of the San Francisco Giants, delighting in their recent post season play and championships. He loved following Forty-Niner football and Warriors basketball. In his younger years, he enjoyed recreationally racing sail boats and snow skiing with some of his lifelong friends. He adored the game of golf. In retirement, he very much enjoyed playing and exploring the many golf courses of Hawaii. To the delight or dismay of many, he could recite his vivid shot by shot, hole by hole recollection of each round. An accomplished cook, well known for his original “Toot-Sweet Chili” recipe. He loved cooking, fine dining, and a good martini. He enjoyed the classic black and white movies of the silver screen. A modern tech gadget enthusiast, he cherished joyful face-time visits with his grandchildren. Affectionately known to some as “Bruno” or “Grandpa Bruno” a nickname born of his fantastic and unwavering sense of humor, his laugh, smile, and humorous, sensitive, generous, joyful spirit will forever be missed. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish located at 3263 First Avenue in Sacramento on Thursday March 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM
