  • Marta Paras, Acampo, CA says:

Dear Bergum Family: I have not had to call on Dr. Jim for years because I got out of breeding and showing but he was mine (and my vet’s) go to guy in an emergency when they were out of the area. I remember prevailing upon him one time to see to the neighbor’s horse in severe colic. The neighbor was having a hard time letting the horse go comfortably and Jim talked her through the process and what was going on internally, so that she could comfortably make a compassionate decision for her horse. I have never seen anyone so intune with what the owner needed to hear while assuring the horse didn’t suffer any longer. Right then and there, I knew Dr. Jim was the “real deal.” May he rest in peace and God’s encouragement and love to your family during this hard time.
