Obituary

Reynolds, Dorothy James After 97 years on this earth, Mom, Grammie, Dorothy passed away peacefully and comfortably. God has a new warrior angel. Mom was first ballot, unanimous entry into heaven. She was the most unselfish, kind person any of us ever knew. She was a God-fearing woman and I think that worked both ways. Dorothy was born in Santa Cruz, CA. Her family moved to Sacramento in 1929. She graduated from Sacramento High In 1936, then attended SCC, and UC Berkeley. She married Frank H. Reynolds, Jr. in July of 1941. Dad was in the Pacific conflict for the entirety of WWII. Dorothy and Frank were married for 47 years before Dad passed away in May 1988. Dorothy was the true definition of a dedicated wife, mom, aunt, and home-maker. She spent her entire life being that plus a friend, disciplinarian, an extremely active volunteer for too many organizations to list. Dorothy’s main role was her dedication to her husband and two sons, Fritz and Bobby. Mom devoted her waking hours to her sons’ sports and school activities. When her boys grew up and were married with children, Grammie became an extremely dedicated grandmother, helping her daughters-in-law, Kathy and Denise, with all of the grandkids sports and school. Dorothy’s life was full of family and friends. When she did make time for herself, Dorothy was an avid tennis teacher/player. She loved her tennis family @ Park Terrace & all over Northern Calif. Mom couldn’t find enough hours in the day to give more of herself. Mom was simply the best. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Fritz (Kathy) & Bobby (Denise); four grandchildren, Scott, Stephanie, Mike, & Jessica and one great grandchild, Everly. At Mom’s request, no services are to be held. Memorial donations can be made to Sacramento Children’s Home.
