Doris Bernice Richardson

Born May 27, 1920 in Minot, North Dakota, and passed away November 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eugene (Buddy), her parents Roy and Lillian Thomas, her three brothers Kenneth, Earl and Donald and by her two sisters Helen Maden and Donna Naify. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Bob Viegas of Morgan Hill, CA and Sherry and John McLellan of Elk Grove. She leaves three adored granddaughters, Lori (Tony) Wilder, Teri Viegas and Mindy (Ed) Corr and four cherished great grandchildren who will miss their Grandma Great, Lindsey and Matthew Wilder and Emily and Sarah Corr. Born and raised in North Dakota she moved with her husband and young daughter to Sacramento in 1946 where they added to their family and enjoyed a long and wonderful life together. She worked at DMV, AAA and the Sacramento Council of Camp Fire Girls, where she retired after 20 years. After retirement, she volunteered with Call 3 at Channel 3 TV where she was Doris Tuesday for 10 years. She enjoyed knitting and was very active with her church. Her memorial service will be Tuesday, November 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Centennial United Methodist Church, 5401 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento. In lieu of flowers donations to Centennial United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice would be welcomed.
