Delores A. Johnson

Delores Anne(Brown) Johnson, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Mar 9, 2018. She was a resident of Elverta, Ca for 50yrs. She was the widow of Ronald Dean Johnson. They shared 37 years of marriage and had four children.
Delores (Deb) was born in Dallas Texas Feb 18, 1938, she was the Daughter of Emodale Dean and J. E. Brown. In her life time she lived in three different states (Texas, Oklahoma, and finally settled California at the age of four). She graduated from Grant Union High school in 1955, and attended ARC.
Deb worked many years in the family business working long hours without pay and touched so many lives and made so many friends in the community. Along with many years as a volunteer for the Sacramento County Sheriff Department as a VIP. Deb worked long hours volunteering for the Annual Jazz Jubilee, hosting the hospitality Room. She was a volunteer for the GUHSAA Museum since 2010. She was a board member and Chairperson for the last 8 yrs. She loved bowling, sewing and square dancing, playing cards with her friends, along with watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She loved traveling, music, a good book and the ocean.
She was the matriarch and the foundation our family was built on. She held her family together strongly and was there to help anyone in need. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother (Noni) and loyal friend. She was “feisty,” witty and tough. She was a very special woman whom brought joy to all who knew her. We are all so proud of her.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Babcock of Elverta; and two sons, Ron Johnson of Weiser, ID and Earl Johnson of Orofino, ID. She was blessed with 10 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren, and two loyal pets; Tippy and Annie. Deb was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Dean Johnson, her Son Dean Johnson, and grandson, Colton Dean Babcock. She was a beautiful spiritual woman of God. She is irreplaceable and will be forever missed.
Friends are welcome to join her family for Memorial Services on Monday March 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Services will be held at EAST LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5757 Greenback Ln., Sacramento, CA. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made in her honor to the Grant Union High School Alumni Assoc.
