Deborah DeCuir

Dec 4, 1954 - Dec 25, 2015

Deborah “Debbie D” DeCuir was born December 4, 1954 and passed away peacefully in her home on December 25, 2015. She was a Sacramento Native and worked for the Sacramento food bank and family services helping people in the community daily. She survived by her children Ricci, Hector, Raymond, and Nicole. She lived for her grandchildren Isadora, Naomi, Angelica, Gabriel, Xavier, Valentino, Noah, and Sofia. She also survived by her great grandchild Ariel, and her mother Virginia and her father Rudolfo, and her step mother Hope, and brother Rudy (Buzzy) and sister Kim.
My mother was the kindest woman on this earth she always had a smile on her face no matter what challenges faced her way she always said “the beat goes on”. If you met her you loved her. She was at peace with god and knew she would be someone special. Her favorite things to do were spend time with her grandchildren and family. She loved music and dancing and hanging out with her compadres. She lived a very thorough life filled with adventure and meaning from her younger years up to her passing. She had a very positive view on life her most important lesson taught was that money and materialistic things didn’t make the person. The way you treated others and what you did with your time on earth is what really mattered. Deborah is now at peace with God and her wish for the family was to continue to stay together and support each other in times of need. Do not morn her because she is gone because she is with God, pain free and watching over us as if she was still her like she promised shortly before her passing.

Deborah and I shared many discussions during our time working side by side. Her laughter and smile lit up any room and her passion for service to the less fortunate was unmatched. I feel blessed to have known her and I’m sure she’s one of the brightest stars in our sky now. She will be missed, but never forgotten. Blessed be her family as they cope with her transition to heaven.

I’m so sad to learn that Debbie passed away. I was good friends with her years ago when she worked at SMUD. It seems a lifetime ago! When she came to my wedding 10 years ago, her smile was exactly as I remembered it! My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

mom… i know that you were very humble and didn’t want people to make too much of a big deal or spend too much money, but you were so special you were worth those services. We planned things the way that we did because we weren’t just laying a mother sister grandma to rest. We were sending an angel home. someone truly special up there. your babies miss you. i know how proud you were watching your boys carry you and those speeches i know you were feeling the love.
