David Oliver White

David O. White was born in Lindsay, California, on December 15, 1951. David grew up in Visalia, CA, attended schools there and graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1970. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines on 01 July 1971 and received an honorable discharge in 29 June 1977. He served 3 years active duty and 3 years in the reserves. During his military service, he was offered Embassy Duty but chose to serve his country in Vietnam.
David will be long remembered for his love of his wife, his family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, shooting, being on his motorcycle with his friends and riding on the open road. He was a collector of â€œstuff,â€ was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He worked for the City of Folsom for 14 years. He was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on September 27, 2013.
David is survived by his wife, Andrea Lynn Fishler White; his parents, Margaret and Louis Ayres, of Visalia, CA and Donald and Joanne White of Kalispell, MT; brother, Evan White, of San Diego, CA; sister Volney White of Bakersfield, CA; father-in-law Stanley Fishler of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters-in-law Valerie Fishler, Stacy Buchanan (Robert); brother-in-law Kevin Fishler; five nieces; 11 nephews; five grandnieces; five grandnephews and other extended family.
David was preceded in death by his brother John White, age 59, who died only one week before Davidâ€™s fatal accident and his brother Donald White who died at age 2.
The funeral will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Goethe Park Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2400 Cordova Lane, Ranch Cordova, CA.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., with the service at 2:00 p.m. Luncheon will be provided after the service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Brain Injury Association of California, Gotyour6.org or a charitable organization of your choice.
