Cynthia Ann Christopher
Dec 23, 1958 - May 26, 2019
Cynthia Ann Christopher (Robinson) passed away surrounded by her family on May 26th, 2019. Cindy was born December 23rd, 1958 in the Bay Area to Ronald and Barbara (Backstrom) Robinson.
In 1966, after the passing of her father, Cindy moved to Eureka, CA with her mother and sister Kim where she developed a love for Humboldt County and all of its beauty. She graduated from Eureka High and went on to attend classes at College of the Redwoods.
Cindy realized early on she was competitive and driven. She used these qualities to pursue a career in the stock brokerage industry. In her 20s she took an opportunity with Dean Witter Reynolds to work at the New York Stock Exchange in New York City. I
In the early 90s Cindy moved to Vacaville, CA where she met her long time husband, Billy Anderson. She decided to change careers to something less time consuming and dove into oil refinery work. She hung up her panty hose for steel toe boots and became a journeyman pipe fitter. Eventually she took a position at Shell Refinery doing accounts receivable.
By 2000 she had moved to Sacramento, CA and began working as a operations manager at Wachovia Securities where she retired in 2014. After retirement Cindy returned to her roots and moved back to where her heart was; Eureka, CA.
Cindy’s real passion was bringing people together through cooking. Whenever she had free time you’d find her in the kitchen cooking up something amazing. She often cooked for the homeless, always sent you home with a plate (or 5), and even started her own business, The Savory Plate, where she sold homemade plates of food via the internet.
Cindy loved camping, thrift store shopping, reading, and spending time with her grandkids. She loved to garden and redo old pieces of furniture into creative pieces of art.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Daniel Robinson.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicolle Turner and grandchildren Peyton and Rodney; Her son, Chase Anderson; Her son, Billy Anderson and his wife Mel and granddaughter Letha; and daughter Stephanie Anderson. Cindy is also survived by siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and reception at East Lawn Mortuary in Sacramento on Saturday May 22nd at 2:00 p.m. (5757 Greenback Lane Sacramento, CA 95841).
In true Cindy fashion we’d like to take this opportunity to bring people together through food one last time in her honor – Please feel free to share a favorite recipe of yours with us; either type or hand write a recipe, include recipe name, your name and email address then place your recipe in the recipe drop box at the service. All of those who participate will receive a digital cookbook via email of all shared recipes (including some of hers) to keep as a memory of her love for friends, family and food.
We’d like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Sacramento and special friends and family for their help and support.
